Wesley enlisted for eight years and over that time he reached the rank of Corporal. In 2006 he deployed to Iraq and commanded soldiers conducting security operations with British forces. Wesley was involved in combat numerous times and was awarded a Distinguish Service Medal for courage and leadership in action with enemy forces. Wesley attained two other awards during his service which were; the Australian Day Medallion for outstanding Leadership as Section Commander and the Papua New Guinea Volunteer Rifles Trophy for Excellency in Infantry Soldiering Skills. Wesley was a fitness leader within his battalion where he maintained daily fitness of the soldiers and instructed unarmed combat training. Wesley has extended knowledge of the importance of nutrition and body fat management, the types of foods needed for survival and sporting performance. After discharging from the army he needed a career that would challenge him physically and employ his leadership abilities. Personal training has given him this opportunity.
