Covid-19 Policies and Procedures

Gyms and fitness centers located in Island Health’s region were ordered to close on April 2, 2020 by our Medical Health Officer. Based on the announcement from BC Premier Horgan on May 6, 2020 in regards to the BC Restart Plan Phase 2, we are rescinding this Order on May 19, 2020. Limitless has decided to resume operation and has developed a plan based on the guidance of WorkSafe BC.

Studio Guidelines

Deep Clean of Studio

Over the covid-19 break period, Limitless organized our cleaning company to conduct a deep clean multiple times using special virus killing substances approved by WorkSafe BC. The studio has also been cleaned from top to bottom and new paint throughout the whole studio.

Control Access

If members have uncontrolled access, then it may not be possible to ensure physical distancing rules are followed or that disinfection of equipment is being performed after each use.

a) All members are required to be booked into our Mindbody system before any personal training sessions and class training.
b) We will have at least one staff member present in the studio.
c) Studio access only through the front entrance and members are to wait outside to give adequate spacing to people coming down the stairs.

Limit Occupancy

The number of members allowed into the facility at any one time should be limited to

a) Ensure there is sufficient space to allow members to remain two meters from one another
b) Prevent large gatherings.
c) Allow staff sufficient time to clean and disinfect equipment and other surfaces frequently.
d) Bathroom access to allowed with the limit of two people at once
e) Limitless has removed seating/waiting area next to cubbies to prevent choke point

We already have our Mindbody booking system in place that allows a limited number of members to book and attend a specified time slot for personal training and classes. We will ensure there is sufficient time between training sessions to allow for cleaning and disinfection of the facility and equipment.

Manage Customer Entry Point

We have one front entrance and when needed staff will remind members to stay two meters at entrances to provide members with visible queues that encourage physical distancing

Post Signage

We have placed signs at our entrance to notify members that they should not enter if they have the symptoms of COVID-19. Other signs we have posted throughout the facility are;

a) Physical distancing requirements (Main Area, Spin Room, Bathrooms)
b) Enhanced sanitation procedures (Main Area, Bathrooms)
c) Do Not Enter If You Are Sick or Required to Self-Isolate (Front entrance)

Screen Arriving Members

We will ask the following question when we see any signs on arrival:

– Do you have any of the following symptoms: coughing, fever, sore throat or difficulty breathing?

Any members who answers yes to the question above should not be permitted to enter. Anyone who has the symptoms of COVID-19 is recommended to call Island Health’s COVID-19 Call Centre: 1-844-901-8442 or visit www.islandhealth.ca/covid19 for more information.

Require staff to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 – Staff who have symptoms of the illness (a fever, cough or difficulty breathing) must not work.

Contactless Payments

Whenever possible, use contactless forms of payment and check-in – We will only take payment through our Mindbody POS system and not cash. All sessions are to be pre-booked through Mindbody

Sanitizer Station

We have provided multiple hand sanitizer stations or handwashing stations for members and will encourage their use.

a) All members are to wash hands on entry into the studio and when finished their training session.
b) All staff are to wash hands before, between clients and after sessions
c) We recommend not touching your face during your session

Cleaning Equipment

We are providing members with either disinfectant wipes or disinfectant in a spray bottle and paper towels for disinfecting equipment and surfaces. Disinfectants for members are conveniently located at the front desk, main gym area and spin room. Members are required to wipe down all equipment before and after use.

Other areas that are being cleaned daily are:

a) Extra cleaning of all door handles, light switches, stairwell handles, cubbies, mirrors and windows
b) All equipment including dumbbell handles, barbells, kettlebell handles
c) Absolutely everything that can be touched will be cleaned

Use appropriate disinfectant

Gyms and fitness centers must verify that the disinfectant(s) they use are effective against SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19). To do this, either:

a) Use the list on Health Canada’s website to identify if a disinfectant has been reviewed and confirmed to be effective against SARS-CoV-2.
b) Use the list on the EPA’s website to identify if a disinfectant has been reviewed and confirmed to be effective.
c) Contact the disinfectant supplier or manufacturer to identify if the disinfectant has been confirmed to be effective.
d) Make a 500 parts per million chlorine disinfectant solution using bleach and water.
To make a solution of this concentration: mix 1-part bleach to 100 parts water (i.e. mix 10 ml bleach (5.25%) with 990 ml water).

Spacing Equipment

Where possible avoid using cardio machines next to other members to achieve adequate distancing.

a) Personal training sessions will be spaced out around the studio between trainers
b) All classes have been redesigned to accommodate correct spacing
c) When using equipment be aware of your surroundings

Note: Our studio has adequate distancing already around the studio between equipment.

Physical Distancing

We will always encourage physical distancing and discourage congregating. Members should be encouraged to conduct their workout and exit the facility without unnecessary delay. Equipment should not be shared or used simultaneously without cleaning completed. All members are to maintain physical distancing of 2 meters apart.

Group Classes

We have restricted our class schedule and class sizes to provide adequate distancing from one another at all times. Our trainers have all be briefed and understand exactly what is required for the safety of all members.

a) Restricted schedule to maintain control of studio cleaning and distancing
b) All classes are limited to 10 people and all members are required to book online on Mindbody.
c) Our classes have all been modified to provide adequate distancing from one another at all times
d) Classes have been scheduled to allow staff adequate time to disinfect equipment and surfaces before each class.

Personal Protective Equipment

Members are welcome to bring their own PPE – Masks, Gloves or eye protection. Our staff are not required to wear PPE, but are welcome to do so if needed.

Drinking Fountain

We will close our drinking fountains which will only to be used for water bottle filling station or members can use the sinks within the bathroom. It is recommended to bring your own water bottle pre filled.

Online Training

Limitless Training will continue to offer online training to clients that may still feel uncomfortable. Until such time that physical distancing recommendations are suspended.
